A 4 day itinerary to Cork, Ireland

I was fortunate enough to have a work trip to Cork in Ireland and, well, I just had to add on some extra days! There is loads to do both in Cork itself and in the surrounding area, even if you don’t have a car. With that in mind, here’s my 4 day Cork itinerary!

(If you’re short on time or aren’t too interested in some of the things I did in Cork itself, you can absolutely condense the two days in Cork below into one, making it a 3 day itinerary).

(For full disclosure, if you click and make a purchase through some of the adverts on this page I may earn a small commission. This doesn’t come at any additional cost to you. Many thanks for your support, I really appreciate it!)

My 4 day Cork itinerary was as follows:

Day 1: Explore Cork

Arrive in Cork. Visit the English Market to see all the food items for sale. Wander around the city centre to do some shopping and see some of the cool murals and street art. In the afternoon, visit the Butter Museum

Day 2: Trip to Cobh

Take the train from Cork to Cobh (which takes around 30 minutes). Walk up to St. Colman’s cathedral to admire the view. Then, visit both the Titanic Experience and the Cobh Heritage Centre (both were really interesting and engaging!) If it’s a nice day (it was!), enjoy an ice cream in John F Kennedy park.

Day 3: Blarney Castle

Take the bus from Cork to Blarney Castle – it’s only about half an hour away. Climb the tower to see the Blarney Stone (which I didn’t kiss in the end) and explore the beautiful grounds and the poison garden.

Day 4: Back to Cork again

After starting the day looking around Elizabeth Fort, walk to Fitzgerald Park and the Cork Public Museum. Afterwards, take a guided tour around Cork City Gaol. Head back into the city to do some shopping before starting work in the evening!
